In der Entstehung ist dies ein klassischer Barolo, bei dem die Trauben aus verschiedenen Weinbergen verwendet werden. Achille Boroli aber interpretiert die Frucht aus Castiglione Falletto modern mit einem prägenden Holzeinsatz. Die Kritiker sind begeistert und es gibt 3 x 92 Punkte!

The Boroli 2019 Barolo shows a dark garnet appearance that denotes more concentration and fruit extraction. The bouquet reveals rich fruit flavors, grilled herb and plenty of spice. This is a modern take on the Nebbiolo grape in which fruit maturity and oak aging is more evident in the overall results. This is an accessible Barolo to drink in the near and medium term. Production is 15,000 bottles.

A medium-bodied Barolo with subtle notes of red berries, dried citrus peel, nutmeg and beeswax. Medium-bodied, tense and vivid with chalky tannins and bright acidity. Very polished with good energy.

Wine Enthusiast

An elegant red, with cherry, raspberry and kirsch notes matched by menthol and mint flavors. Supple, with light, somewhat sinewy tannins emerging on the fresh finish.

Dieser ‚Bricco San Pietro‘ ist ein wunderbarer Ausdruck für den Nebbiolo aus Montforte d’Alba. Er ist klassisch komponiert mit dichten Tanninen, Eleganz und Komplexität. Es ist ein Wein, der noch viel Potenzial hat, aber schon jetzt gut zu trinken ist. Ausgezeichnet!

Decanter

Although a little deeper than its fellow laureate, this 2020 Barolo is relatively pale in colour: a translucent garnet. You can read the steady, tempered heat of the summer in its vibrant, clearly defined fruits – plum, raspberry, pomegranate – lifting effortlessly from the glass. That heat was then followed, in 2022, by cool Alpine air in September which ensured the crop spent the necessary time on the vine, gently maturing, before an October harvest. The signature of that hang time in this wine is the clean, firm lines of soft tannin and supple acidity which marble the fruits on the back palate. It’s not a wine which needs further ageing (though it won’t object if you do), and it would make the perfect wine to show any Pinot-loving friends who have still to be won over to the joys of Nebbiolo in its marly home soils.
